Panto Roadshow Snapshots

April 15, 2012

When a Dame clears out her drawers, you have no idea what she’ll find!

My archive of all things pantomime has now taken over many filing cabinets, drawers and shelves. On a good day I can lay my hands on what I’m looking for, on a bad can imagine! IBY has expanded beyond anything Simon and I could have imagined in sheer volume, but it is still in progress!

These photographs show an early Roadshow with Lewis Philips, Peter and Myself. Peter was dressed up as a “Thesp” in this version of the show.

These photographs are from the Panto Roadshow and mostly the Birmingham Hippodrome Roadshow a few years back. Peter Tod the manager of the Hippodrome at that time asked us to take out a Hippodrome Roadshow telling the history of theatre, in addition to our usual Pantomime Roadshow.

The Hippodrome was being rebuilt, and our touring shows kept a little of the Hippo Magic alive while the building itself was shut for a few years.

Team Hippo comprised of Ian Sandy, Lorna Laidlaw, Andrew Ryan, Peter Robbins and myself.

These recent photographs of  our last Panto Roadshow in 2011 show Nathan Daniel with Andrew and myself.

We’ll be taking the show around the UK as usual this Autumn, dates to be confirmed, and we kick off with two weeks in East London for the Kenneth More Theatre Week Commencing September 24th and 1st October. More dates to follow!

    filing cabinets that are made from solid steel are the best in my opinion because they last very long and they provide more security compared to wooden filing cabinets. .;`,;

    Have a great day!
