Michael Grade’s History Of The Pantomime Dame

March 10, 2013

Over Panto season the BBC shone a spotlight on the world of the Pantomime Dame. A lot of us panto folk were unable to watch as we were in the middle of twice daily shows. Fortunately YouTube has now got the Michael Grade presentation so we can watch at our convenience.

I spent a good hour or two chatting to Michael Burke about some background material on the subject of the Dame, and although a programme like this can only scratch the surface of the 150 odd years of Dame-dom, the following link will be a fascinating glimpse at life with Dame Trott, Sarahy The Cook, Mrs Crusoe, Widow Twankey and her sisters! Here is the link- For Educational Purposes only.
