In The Swim!

Boxing Day 2013

swim 001

Cold and raining, but nothing deters the hardy residents of Llandudno. It’s Boxing Day- let the swimming commence!

Annually here for nigh on twenty-five years there is a Charity dip in the sea, and the prom was lined with about a thousand well wishers. The idea is to run into the sea and having immersed, run back again, usually in fancy dress. I didnt see any wet suits but I did see a Camel (two person) Wonderwoman,Superman, inflatable Scotsmen and a collection of Panto Dames in Pink! The Mayor issued a strictly no nudity warning (as if!!) due to an outbreak of streaking last year apparently! Well, it IS Llandudno!

Having watched the event, I went back to the theatre for a sell-out fabulous show, pensioner packed and loving it! A great Boxing Day matinee for us all.

In between shows a busy half hour- First the Crew Picture for the blog. The guys and girls who create the magic here agreed very kindly to a pic, and here it is!

Our “Secret Santa” was held on stage, and our limit was Five Pounds. The Babes had their own and their limit was a tenner! That was hardly over when we went to thebasement and joined in the second team’s “Babes Party” below decks.

The Evening show just as fiesty, with a lot of fun to be had. Sad to think it all finishes on Sunday! In to see the show was our roving reporter, Daniel Dawson with Anthony and Dan’s Mum. Daniel will have seen something well over twenty three pantomimes I think this season – he can average Two A Day, and is heading tomorrow for Dartford, Southend, Wimbledon and Richmond over the next few days!

Lovely to catch up afterwards with a meal at the Albert- about Twenty Three of us tonight- joined later by Rooney The Dog who has become friends with Vicky and me! Bribed with biscuits maybe, but still friends!

Great to see Sue Lane again, David’s wife. Can’t believe it has been a year since Panto in Wolverhampton. That prompted me to have a chat with Sherrie (Hewson) on the phone. She too finishes on Sunday.

Weather getting a bit grim again tonight, and the Can Y Bae was buffeted by strong winds.
