Saturday- Last London Day!

December 1, 2014

Saturday 29th November 2014

001

Our final day in the Pimlico rehearsal room. We started at 10am to run through the show twice- and managed to do this by 3pm. Matt and Ian also gave the ensemble some new scenes to be involved in, and Matt set the Finale Walkdown, along with a reprise of the song most likely to be found in pantomimes across the land this year- “Happy!”.

002

We were Happy too- and running it twice really helps in that “what happens next” process. What we need now is to put this part of the Panto Jig Saw together adding the Stage part- scenery, lighting, sounds.. and of course, The children. Two sets of local children who will be joining us onstage on Monday in Hull- courtesy of LWHS School of Dance.

Sherrie and Rachel left the hall with their luggage- heading off today. The wardrobe boxes have already left in the Qdos truck, and will be arriving tomorrow at The New Theatre. Arriving in this hall on Monday will be The Llandudno Cinderella Company, with Michael Gyngell at the helm, and John Evans and Lisa Briddon joining Jimmy Osmond to start their London week of rehearsals. We’ve warmed up the hall for them!

004 005

Didn’t get a chance to say goodbye to Chris Jarvis and company as we left- They’ll have a great time at Richmond- enjoy guys!

I’m hearing from Panto mates about their shows that have opened to great acclaim- from Chris Haywood in Newcastle- they are up and running and bringing the house down as they do every year. Bobby Crush sent me a message to say they are about to open at Bromley, and on Monday the Kenneth More Theatre starts rehearsing “Dick Whittington”, the one wot I have costumed during the Summer months- hope everything is there, wrapped, bagged and labelled and ready for you!

Tomorrow I’m getting the 3pm train from King’s Cross to Hull, and plan to settle in to the hotel with lemsip and night nurse and a bit of “I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here”!
