A day off- and a late breakfast- can’t beat it!

Last night we planned a trip to a local Thai restaurant for New Year’s, and got up a party of five, plus Andrew Ryan who travelled up from Nottingham- his panto continues into next week and runs a week longer than us.
At the last minute we were joined by Sherrie, which was a lovely surprise. Packing to set off for the journey and with tales of ice and rain she decided last minute to abandon her journey and just stay here and rest.

. We all had a jolly meal, and ended up playing noisy charade games using I Phones on the head (thank you James Pullam for introducing me to this!) into the wee small hours back at the Hotel. Oh and Bacon Butties with HP Sauce at 1am. Great New Year thanks guys!

Today- New Year’s day we made a trip to “The Deep”, Hull’s vast Aquarium on the waterfront, and spent a couple of hours there, out of the very cold and wet weather. Town was quiet with very few of the shops open I thought, the sales already having started on Boxing Day perhaps?

Just Six more shows- the time will fly past. We are not alone in finishing on Sunday. Joining us in the Qdos family will be Aberdeen, Crewe, Dartford, Glasgow, Hayes, Wycombe, Llandudno, Northampton, Southampton and Swindon!
Eleven shows ended same time- those Qdos transport trucks will be busy going up and down from Scarborough collecting sets and boxes of costumes, mine included. I’ve arranged for my lot to be returned soon, as I start rehearsals for the next panto- “Babes In The Wood” a week after we finish here in Hull.

Sherrie travels home on the Sunday then goes to London the following day for a Tuesday “Loose Women!” No rest for us lot here! Talking of Miss Hewson- “Benidorm” new series starts tomorrow (Friday) at 9pm- we will be doing our garden “drunk” scene onstage at that time I reckon!

we are joined over the week-end by one of Hull’s Viking Radio presenters reporting live on taking part in the Panto- appearing as a villager in “One Long Poo”. Here’s a photo taken during her costume fitting- full details when it is happening!
