Boxing Day 2015

December 26, 2015

Here is a picture of the annual Boxing Day Swim that has happened in Llandudno for over twenty five years, if not longer. These intrepid fancy dress wearing swimmers go into the sea for the local charities, and draw the crowds. I love watching each time I’m here!

It was icy rain and gale force winds this morning. Hurricane Eva has wreacked havoc in the Lake District and The North West overnight, but the crowds attended, despite being colder and wetter than the swimmers!

It kicked off at 11.30am, so I was just in time to see the fun and then head, completely soaked to the skin to Venue Cymru along the promenade.

Strictly Salsa!

I had a very relaxing Christmas at the Hotel, and for a great part of the day I had a companion. Here is Steven. Steven Seagull. (Thanks Wendy for the name!)

The hotel was quiet, I hardly left my room while a storm raged outside, and when I asked if they did a bar menu, I was asked to take a look at this free buffet- only about eight guests were hungry enough to partake. I was one! Thank you so much Llandudno Bay Hotel for a lovely week!

The two shows were Fab U Lous today. Despite the absolutely dreadful weather and winds howling around the Venue, they flocked in. Many from local hotels as part of a Christmas Holiday Package. Many rows of jolly pensioners up for it, and a lovely feel to the two performances.

Michael Harrison and Jake Hine from Qdos came to see the 5pm show, having driven in this now horrendous weather. Lovely to have a brief catch up on the quarter before they went in to see the show. During the two hours the weather reports were grim, much flooding in Lancashire, Yorkshire and The Lake District. Locally parts of West Wales, Deganwy and the approaches to Anglesea are flooded.

Between shows we had a secret Santa onstage- very jolly. Thank you Santa for me Wine and Cheese! What a great choice! Following the giving out of the goodies we went to the basement for the Pearl Sahaw Juveniles second team’s Party!

Excellent show to follow, a couple of drinks back at the Llandudno Bay Hotel, then early to bed! Tomorrow Robin and I move back in and we have the Robin Windsor Quiz Night after the two shows- devised and created and hosted by Twinkle Toes himself- The Man In The Mirror!
