John and ensemble in Cloudland

The picture above sees Fleshcreep and his minions in Cloudland, top of Act Two. John performs an excellent  Casino Royale song- great voice, and it turns out he is a superb guitarist too. Those couple of years at The Palace Theatre London in “The Commitments” , and again in “We Will Rock You” at The Dominion and many many musicals have honed that great voice!  He makes a pretty mean baddie too!

This morning I went with Simon (Webbe) to BBC Northants radio. We did a very jolly interview with Bernie Keith on his mid morning radio show. Bernie has a gorgeous schnauser called Riley in the studio with him, so we were in dog heaven again!

Bernie asked me stuff about panto, and how long I’ve been dame-ing, and whether we ad-lib or not in panto (we hardly ever in fact!) and asked Simon about his “Im A Celebrity” stint in 2008 and “Sister Act” as Curtis Shank in The West End at The London Palladium in 2010-2011.

Walking back through the streets of Northampton was fun- Simon being stopped for autographs frequently en route to the local sports shop to buy new trainers!

Here’s me on an entrance. I’ve taken to wearing Danny (La Rue’s) necklace at least once in each show for a bit of luck and a bit of Panto history. It’s a gorgeous beaded affair that looks very good with the Dame Trott Opening Frock.

The Family Von Trott!

So today was a radio, followed by a show, followed by a nap in the dressing room- a tasty M&S cheese and ham sarnie and back to Pantoland for a packed 7pm show. Hard work yes, but you know what? Having such a lovely matey company and an equally matey friendly crew makes it all so much easier!

A swift drink in the pub and back to the hotel to look up reviews on a few pantomimes, including the London Palladium “Cinderella” which had its press night tonight! Can’t wait to see it.Hoping to see Michael Harrison’s panto for Qdos at The Hippodrome Birmingham on Monday evening.

My visitors today included a quick hello from Sullivan. Ashleigh brought him in to see Jalisa and I in the interval. It is so lovely to be in theatres where dogs are -and it is great to share this one with these very special two boys!
