The Ladies of The Ensemble!

Today the trains were dreadful! Arrived at my station to be told there were no trains and over two hours later dashed into the rehearsal room on the very beat of ten o’clock- with a wonderful hot mug of tea administered by Eamonn to soothe the frazzled Dame!

We spenbt a good hour with Stewart running through the “Video” routine, which is like the Sweeties routine but about Videos, if that makes any sense? Its looking good and Ricky and I are getting slicker as we get quicker!

During a break ran into Nottingham Theatre Royal’s lovely ladies of the Wardrobe- Lesley & Beryl. So lovely to catch up again girls!

Lesley & Beryl

The Ensemble were in their room all day learning numbers with Gary and Rose Wild, Gary’s assistant choreographer. we went through scenes with Stewart, including The Goodies vs Baddies, the Market Fair and scenes with the Trott’s Cow, Moo Moo. Moo Moo, like Pudsey was not actually there today, except in spirit.

Discovered I have already done pantomime before with Phil our Musical Director. It was nigh on twenty years ago with Gary Wilmot and Judy Cornwall (with Jonathan Jiley our producer as Prince Charming!) at Woking. Phil was on keyboards then!

A VERY tall Baddie!

we rehearsed from Ten until Six tonight- and this included running through the “If I were Not In Pantomime” routine to set the movements- it is chaotic but the idea is to hone it until it is organised chaos! It is going to be VERY funny.

A few clues!

It was Ricky’s Birthday- and a chorus of “Happy Birthday” concluded today’s entertainment in Pantoland as we all set off for the rush hour London traffic. “If I were not in Pantomime I wouldn’t be standing from West to East London with a few thousand others like sardines!

And The Birthday Boy! Happy birthday Ricky K!
